Membership

Joy mosaicThough not required, membership at Glade Church is encouraged. We receive new members according to the following by-laws, which were adopted March 9, 2003:

 

Eligibility
Glade Church welcomes into full fellowship any person who embraces the purpose and covenant of the church and who wishes to share the study, understanding, and practice of what Jesus taught: "You shall love your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength; and your neighbor as yourself."

 

Expectation
Members of Glade Church are expected, insofar as they are able, to be faithful in upholding the purpose and covenant of the church by attending regularly its services, giving systematically for its support, and sharing in its organized work.

The "Joy" mosaic--which hangs above the altar in the sanctuary -- was created by the late artist and Glade member Alex Wind using shards of Rev. Kelly Sisson's ceramic stoneware that had been shattered in an accident.
