Bible Study on Saturday, January 28

Bible Study on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. The parable this week is often called the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). Everyone is welcome! We meet in the Fellowship Hall. To prepare, read the parable and then take one of the characters (father, younger son, older son, missing women, guests at the party, perhaps even a missing someone for whom the younger son worked) and read the parable from their point-of-view. Bring your own family history, your observations, and your questions to share.

Bible Study on Saturday, Nov 12

Bible Study is on November 12 from 11-noon in the Fellowship Hall. We are taking a fresh look at the Parable of the Mustard Seed (Mark 4:30-32; Matthew 13:31-32; Luke 13:18-19) using Amy-Jill Levine’s Short Stories by Jesus: The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi as a guide. Levine is professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School. On the book jacket she describes herself as a “Yankee Jewish feminist who teaches in a predominantly Christian divinity school in the buckle of the Bible Belt.”

Everyone is welcome.
